IN THE SPOTLIGHT – Nocturnal hydrosis
“I was so hot and sweaty in bed!”
No passion here, though -bedtime would leave Sheila Buckley, 59, from Bradford, West Yorkshire, feeling fed up…
“Not again!” I cried peeling back the sheets from my skin.
Grabbing a pile of towels, I dried myself off. “Need a hand love?” asked my husband Graham, 54.
“No it’s OK!” I snapped. I was annoyed at myself more than anything – I’d had enough. I’d been suffering from night sweats for 10 years. At first it was just hot flushes during the day. But six years later, it got much worse. Every night, I’d wake to find my sheets and my hair absolutely drenched. The dried sweat would leave watermarks on the bed so I was constantly changing the sheets. And, as for me and Graham, gone were the days when we’d snuggle up together. Help! I begged the doctor. He gave me HRT, but it made me dizzy, so I ditched it a week later.”
“We all have night sweats” my friend told me. “It’s all part and parcel of the menopause!”
So I decided to put up with it.
But one morning, I found myself moaning about it to my friend Margaret…
“Well, there’s a herbal remedy called vitalWOMAN which you could try – it helped me”, she said. So I gave it a go.
A few days later, I woke up totally dry!
“Graham, look!” I cried, pulling back the sheets. They were as dry as a bone!
“I still have night sweats occasionally, but they’re not nearly as bad now. It just goes to show -you don’t have to just “put up with things” when something’s bothering you. At least now Graham and I can cuddle up in bed!
